Meet The Team » Ashley Thompson, Executive Director
Ashley joined the Danbury team in May of 2018 with a wealth of knowledge and experience. She began her career in healthcare 14 years ago. In that time, she started out as a Nurse's Assistant, became a Practical Nurse, and also served 8 years in the United States Army. After her time with the Army, Ashley returned to healthcare in Admissions and Marketing. She is very dedicated to her career as she prides herself in making sure the residents always come first. In Ashley’s free time she loves spending quality time with her fiancee, Ryan, and their 4 children.
Melissa Cararo, Director of Nursing
Melissa joins our Danbury Mentor team with 25 years of nursing. Melissa is a Registered Nurse that has been a Director of Nursing for 20 years. She comes to us with a wealth of knowledge. She has worked with geriatrics, mental health, pediatrics, and adolescents. Her passion for directing a nursing department comes with the love of educating. She has been a crisis prevention instructor, a CPR instructor, First Aide instructor, and an ALICE (active shooter) instructor. Melissa lives in Geneva, Ohio and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. In Melissa’s free time, she enjoys boating and doing outdoor scavenger hunts all over the world called Geocaching.
Jessica Elersich, Director of Marketing and Admissions
Jessica graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and two minors one in Business and one in Management. Her career started three years ago in healthcare where she quickly found that assisting staff and families was her passion. In her free time, she enjoys shopping trips and loves spending time with family and friends.
Kelly Rose Stallard, CDP, Regional Director of Business Development
Kelly Rose Stallard joined us as the Director of Business Development and Marketing for Danbury Senior Living in 2017. She brings over 20 years of health care business development experience from the areas of skilled nursing, emergency medical response, skilled home care and hospice. Kelly graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University with a focus in Gerontology. She has received numerous sales growth and new market development awards throughout her career. Kelly’s passion is to assist families when faced with deciding the best options for “aging in place”. She assists in area professional group events and is involved in many community organizations. Kelly is a graduate of the class of 2014 Leadership Medina County. She has also participated in the Faith in Action fundraiser “Dancing with Medina Stars” and won the People’s Choice Award in 2014. Her expertise in health care and her ability to connect people with needed services is a focus of her activities.
Kelly Edmonds, Business Office Manager
Kelly started her healthcare journey at just 15 years old in the role of a Dietary Aide. In 1991 she graduated as a Medical Assistant where her healthcare knowledge truly developed. Kelly joins our Danbury team with the last 15 years in leadership healthcare role. Kelly has been married to her high school sweetheart Rob for 32 years. They share a daughter together and are very involved with their church ministry.
Torsten Marburger, Executive Chef
Torsten fell in love with cooking 20 years ago. He began his career by serving as a United States Marine for 4 years. After completing his time with the Marines, he graduated from
Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts in Pittsburgh in 2011. Torsten prides himself on being able to put smiles on our residents' faces three times a day. He lives locally in Mentor, Ohio with his beautiful wife Joann and their 3 dogs. Patty Brunskole, Life Enrichment Director
Patty joins Danbury with 25 years of customer service experience. She knew her passion was caring for people as she cared for her mother and grandmother. Just five years ago Patty’s true calling was fulfilled as she joined a senior living community as a receptionist. In just a short time she joined life enrichment and the rest became history. Patty’s faith, love of family and friends is most important. She cherishes her residents and their families as her own. Nothing in life is more precious than listening to others and putting smiles on her resident's faces. She looks forward to getting to know what the residents like and bringing them the best programs and activities. Patty resides in Willowick with her husband Bob. They have 3 sons and 2 dogs. She enjoys warm summer days, spending time outdoors, and traveling to sunny destinations.
Dan Churney, Director of Environmental Services
Dan Churney joined the Danbury Senior Living team in 2020. Dan comes to Danbury with over 35 years in building maintenance. During 2020, he shared his time working for both Danbury Hudson and Springwood Senior Living. In March 2021, Dan became the Environmental Services Director for our Mentor community! Dan is married to his wife Gloria and together they have raised three terrific kids. Dan lives in Mentor which is perfect for both his boating and fishing hobbies. He is also an avid golfer. Dan looks at each day as an opportunity to serve the residents of his community. .
