Amy Jo Black, LPN, Executive Director
Amy Jo brings 20 years of experience in healthcare to Danbury. Her career has been in home health, hospice, long-term care and social services. Serving others has always been her passion. Amy Jo is a well-respected resource and leader within Miami and Montgomery counties. Her knowledge of senior living and ability to apply her strong clinical and social services skills make her a creative problem solver. Amy Jo is married to her husband, Eli, and has two grown daughters.
Diana Bates, LPN, Director of Nursing
Diana has 28 years of nursing experience. She brings an expansive knowledge of senior living as well as exceptional customer service skills. Serving others and making a difference in the geriatric community has always been her passion. Diana’s goal is to ensure safety, quality care, and staff education. Diana wants to be a resource to the nursing team and help them achieve their own personal goals while delivering great care. Diana has grown children, twins, Ben and Sarah. She and husband Jack enjoy fishing and spending time outdoors.
Aaryn McKenzie, Director of Admissions & Marketing
Aaryn began her journey in sales and marketing more than 15 years ago in the insurance industry. Her passion has always been in healthcare which led her to become a nurse. For the last 7 years she has excelled in a career of nursing. She enjoys helping others in the community and specializes in Senior Living. Aaryn is a proud Air Force wife of nearly 20 years and mother to four little ones. In her spare time, you can usually find her at a ball game, enjoying the outdoors or crafting.
Sandy Holt, LPN, Business Office Manager
Sandy started her career in healthcare 21 years ago as an State Tested Nurse’s Aide and eventually earning her LPN licensure. Sandy has a passion for serving others and looks forward to working with you and your family. She is very active in her community and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Amy Shade, BS, ADC, CDP, CADDCT, Life Enrichment Director
Amy is a Certified Activity Director, through the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals, and spent 25 years of her career providing creative programming for older adults. Amy is a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer and Certified Dementia Practitioner through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She is passionate about educating staff and families to equip them to provide the best quality of life for those affected by dementia. Amy has previously taught at Wright State University, and has consulted on coursework as well as guest lectured at Cedarville University.
Bill Byrne, Executive Chef
Bill comes to Danbury with restaurant and assisted living experience. He completed Chef Apprenticeship and is certified by the American Culinary Federation. Bill’s style of cooking is from scratch “comfort style dishes.” His mission is to make each dining experience better than the last. He enjoys talking with the residents about recipes they have used and loved and incorporating it into the menu at Danbury. Bill enjoys spending time with his wife, Linda, his children, and his grandchildren. When he is not working at Danbury he enjoys traveling and refinishing antique furniture.
Paul Charles, Environmental Services Director
Paul brings 35 years of maintenance and management skills to Danbury Huber Heights. Paul is knowledgeable in the areas of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry which all compliment his HVAC certification. Building safety and the day to day maintenance services while interacting with residents is what Paul enjoys most. Paul takes great pride in knowing he is providing both excellent customer service and a comfortable environment for our residents. Paul and his wife, Meredith, have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. In his spare time Paul enjoys golfing, camping, hunting, and fishing.
