Meet The Team »
Colleen feels honored to serve as the Executive Director at Danbury. Her philosophy is to create a home-like environment that honors choice and centers services around individual preferences to promote a higher quality of life. “Most importantly, a community should feel just like ‘home’ with a warm and inviting atmosphere. All residents should feel that they are important members of the Danbury family.” Colleen is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and Certified Dementia Practitioner. She also holds a certification in Montessori-Inspired Lifestyle Dementia techniques. She received a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications from The Ohio State University.
Karen has worked as a registered nurse for 37 years. She has worked in skilled nursing facilities for 16 years and for 11 of those years she was a Director of Nursing. Karen graduated with a degree in nursing from Oral Roberts University. “I love working with senior adults and hearing their stories. I have a passion for helping them live their lives to the fullest.”
Amy Jo brings 20 years of experience in healthcare to Danbury. Her career has been in home health, hospice, long-term care and social services. Serving others has always been her passion. Amy Jo is a well-respected resource and leader within Miami and Montgomery counties. Her knowledge of senior living and ability to apply her strong clinical and social services skills make her a creative problem solver. Amy Jo is married to her husband, Eli, and has two grown daughters.
Sandy started her career in healthcare 21 years ago as an State Tested Nurse’s Aide and eventually earning her LPN licensure. Sandy has a passion for serving others and looks forward to working with you and your family. She is very active in her community and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Pete brings 24 years of culinary experience ranging from fine dining to traditional comfort food. His favorite cuisine to prepare is Italian with an emphasis on from scratch cooking. He received his start in the restaurant industry at 15 years of age and has worked in kitchens specializing in cuisines such as Italian, Classic French, Asian Fusion, Creole, and fresh seafood in Florida. In 2008 he returned to college to earn a degree in dietetics and has since used his background in the culinary industry to provide high quality nutritionally balanced meals to our senior community. He is extremely excited to share his talents and passion for cooking with Danbury Senior Living.
Amy is a Certified Activity Director, through the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals, and spent 25 years of her career providing creative programming for older adults. Amy is a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer and Certified Dementia Practitioner through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She is passionate about educating staff and families to equip them to provide the best quality of life for those affected by dementia. Amy has previously taught at Wright State University, and has consulted on coursework as well as guest lectured at Cedarville University.
