Kelly is a senior living professional with over 30 years of dedicated service as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Skilled Nursing Care and CCRC settings. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Economics from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. Kelly not only has a passion for seniors but also in attracting and developing future leaders to the senior living profession. She has a wealth of knowledge from all aspects of senior living and is always willing to assist residents and family members with any questions or concerns. Kelly and her husband Rob are proud parents to four awesome school-aged children. Her spare time is spent cheering on her kiddos at various musical, outdoor, and athletic events.
Shannon knew from an early age that a career that involved helping others would be in her future. Shannon spent much of her childhood volunteering at local nursing homes and food pantries where she found her calling to help others. Shannon has 18 years’ experience working in Long-term, Alzheimer’s and dementia care facilities. She first started working as a receptionist for a skilled nursing facility when she was sixteen years old. She then became a State Tested Nursing Assistant when she was 19 and years later decided she wanted to do more for her residents, so she went on to become a Certified Activity Director and a Certified Dementia Practitioner. Shannon has 7 years’ experience working as a Life Enrichment Director and she is very excited and honored to be a part of this wonderful Community.
Candias has more than 12 years of experience in the health care field. She has spent most of her time in the assisted living setting where she started her career as an aide, became a licensed practical nurse, and has extensive years of management experience. While she enjoys working in this healthcare setting her passion lies within memory care. In her free time she enjoys participating in various fitness activities, as well as spending time with her two children Shem and Amiah. Candias is thrilled to be a part of the Danbury Senior Living community, and is excited to serve and extend her experience to all our residents and their loved ones.
Melissa has six years of experience in Sales & Marketing, five of those years in multi-level Health Care Retirement Communities. She graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelors in Interpersonal Communications and a Bachelors in Psychology. Melissa loves public speaking opportunities and is a proud member of the Ohio Parkinson Foundation where she serves on the Moving Day Walk Committee. In 2019 she was nominated and won the Parkinson’s Hero Award by the members in the Parkinson’s Community who attended her Summit County Support Group. In her free time Melissa teaches Zumba with her small group fitness certification and enjoys playing sports including soccer, volleyball, and golf. She loves dogs, specifically beagles and has two of her own named Kiley and Ike. Melissa is dedicated to educating adult children and seniors of their options and truly believes that Senior Retirement Communities allow our residents to stay independent longer because of the support system they provide. Melissa says, “There is nothing better than helping a family find the right solution for their loved one and seeing the relief on their face”.
Bob has worked with seniors, families and professionals in Northeast Ohio for almost 20 years. He has an undergraduate degree and master’s degree in communication and has served on adjunct faculty of University of Akron and Mt. Union University. He has transferred this expertise to the field of aging and Alzheimer’s and has become a Certified Dementia Practitioner. He has been involved in many lectures for Danbury communities as well as professionals about the topics of aging, Alzheimer’s Disease and Brain health, as well as grief. Bob’s role as Director of Business Development is to develop friendships in the community and tell the Danbury story, sharing on aging, senior living, Alzheimer’s and several other topics to your healthcare organization, church, business, chamber of commerce, etc. When he’s not at work, Bob can be found living a healthy life to the fullest with his wife and 5 kids who love to travel and find adventure in every nook and cranny.
Erin's Danbury career began in 2016 at the new Tallmadge location. She started out as a full time receptionist there. Soon after, her responsibilities grew as she became the Administrative Assistant for the Business Office and the Marketing Manager. This path helped to prepare Erin for her position as the Business Office Manager at the Broadview Heights location. Through the history of her work experience, she has always enjoyed helping people, organizing, and creating friendly environments. She feels that it is such a blessing to get to know and assist the residents that we serve as we create a great home environment. Erin has enjoyed the challenges and opportunities offered to her at Danbury and looks forward to the new experiences ahead. In her off hours, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, going to and volunteering at church, and reading a good book. Erin loves spending time with her four grown sons and their families. She feels blessed and thankful!
Elizabeth Berkel is a dedicated elder care professional who joined the Danbury team in August 2019. She has a passion for being of service to others and empowering people to improve their well-being. Elizabeth has over 10 years of experience in vocational evaluation and healthcare education. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from John Carroll University and is a certified instructor in the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. She has a special interest in dementia and Parkinson’s disease and supervised a National Parkinson Foundation Outreach Center in central Florida before returning to her home state of Ohio. When not at work, Elizabeth keeps busy with gardening, crafting, spending time with her dogs and watching her three school-aged children grow up all too quickly.
Jeff came to Danbury after 20 years in the restaurant business. After 15 years of cooking, he decided to attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and received his degree in 2012. Jeff decided to switch gears and join the Senior Living community after working in fine dining for some time. It has been a gratifying change and putting smiles on our residents' faces is what its all about for him. Jeff enjoys spending his time off with his two children and enjoying Ohio State football.
Bryan has an extensive background in residential and long-term care maintenance and environmental services. He grew up in Strongsville and is a graduate of Polaris Career Center. Bryan enjoys working with the Danbury team; resident and family satisfaction is his priority. Bryan takes pride in keeping our Danbury community looking its best for residents, their families and friends, co-workers, and as a beacon for senior living in the community of Broadview Heights.
