Letter To Families

June 23, 2021

Dear Residents, Families, and Team Members,

When we heard Governor Dewine and the Ohio Department of Health announced they were rescinding all orders related to COVID-19 restrictions on access to Ohio’s residential care facilities, which Danbury Senior Living communities fall under, we were excited.  Our assumption was this meant our communities could move forward with little or no COVID restrictions. This is not the situation. While the State of Ohio’s orders have been rescinded, Assisted Living communities are now directed by ODH to continue to follow the CDC guidelines (click here to review guidelines) for operation.

These guidelines do allow us to have more than one visitor at a time with no reservations for visits.  Additional CDC instructions for visitation is as follows:

  • all visitors will continue to log in and have their temperature taken when entering the building
  • visitors while in common space and traveling to a resident’s room need to wear a mask
  • visitors do not need to wear a mask while in residents’ rooms or during outside visits

This guidance is not what we were hoping for. We are sorry the CDC is so stringent, and we fully share your frustration.  Please understand this is clearly out of the hands of Danbury as ODH has chosen to put CDC guidance upon us. We will notify you of any changes that are given in the future.

Through the journey of the past nearly eighteen months, there is no way we can fully express the profound gratitude we feel for our treasured residents and our extraordinary staff.  We are deeply blessed to be a part of the Danbury family.
