Dr. Roberts is an Assistant Professor in the Roxelyn & Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University, a Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence. Dr. Robert’s “Expert Briefing” is a free, hour-long on-line seminar that gives practical tips for managing Parkinson’s disease from experts in the field.

This months seminar will help attendees:
1) Learn how communication changes with aging and disease. Everyday conversations are impacted by both the person with Parkinson’s disease, and their care partners.
2) Learn to recognize signals of conversation breakdowns, and how to apply strategies to prevent or resolve those breakdowns.
3) Better understand the relationship among conversation diffculties and social, emotional, and physical burdens in caregiving and quality of life.
