Let’s face it: canceling outings and visitors during the COVID pandemic has been a challenge for everyone. We all miss our regular face-to-face interactions and activities, but these unusual times have also created opportunities to have fun in new ways. Life Enrichment teams at all of our Danbury locations have created an array of creative activities to keep our residents happy and entertained—separate but together!
In order to help prevent the spread of coronavirus, our residents are spending all of their time in their apartments. As a result, our tireless staff have brought the concept of “room service” to an entirely new level! Our seniors are not only receiving delicious meals in their rooms, but opportunities to get pampered, exercise their creativity, and stay in touch with loved ones.
Here are some highlights from just a few of our locations:
Mentor: Painting beautiful ceramic pieces in the safety and comfort of private rooms
Wooster: Enjoying arrangements handmade on site with flowers donated by a local Walmart
North Canton: Drinking delicious, hand-delivered root beer floats
Huber Heights: Customizing Starbucks coffee with a variety of flavors and gourmet extras on a traveling cart
Hudson: Staying in touch with nature by painting rocks—bright colors, googly eyes, the works!
Tallmadge: Staying fit by exercising with Cubii cycles
At all of our locations, of course, we celebrated Easter with cheerful combinations of bunnies, baskets, and treats. And in keeping with our commitment since the beginning of the pandemic, we are continuing to help our residents stay in touch with loved ones by facilitating FaceTime calls, window visits, picture messages, and other creative means of sharing love.
We take pride in ensuring the safety of our staff, residents, their families, and our fellow community members. Danbury Senior Living is taking COVID-19 very seriously, as well as our residents’ need for intellectual, social, physical, and emotional health. We look forward to continuing to bring joy to their daily lives as we anticipate the world “reopening” soon!
